In Thursday's lesson matt did a camera composition workshop, he talked about the rule of 3rds, camera hight, depth and lighting.


Rule of 3rds – when you have camera shot of a subject on the screen think about the screen as a grid 3 horizontal lines and 3 vertical lines this is a way to break u your shot and rearrange it to make it more interesting for the audience. For example, by having your line of interest positioned on were the lines cross gives more to the shot than having every shot with the subject dead centred.

Camera hight – bring the camera to the hight of the subject so you can see it in a more realistic view 

Depth – giving the shot depth makes the shot a lot more enjoyable to watch having something happening or shown in the background not only make it more interesting to watch but it can also give the shot some context there for you audience has a further understanding on what is going on. Also makes the shot more realistic as in day-to-day life you aren't walking around with a wight screen behind you. 

Lighting – it is very important that you shots are well lit so you can see everything that is going on its also important to switch u the lighting to keep it interesting for the audience but also relate real life and giving the audience context for example the time of day.
