I have created a mood bored that contains key elements that will take place in our opening sequence that reflect our genre and themes.

Today we have contacted our main roles and asked them if they would like to take part in our opening scene. I emailed Matilde:

What costumes do we need?

Navy blue suit, + white shirt, black stilettos with red bottoms and a FBI badge

For the detective we wanted her to look classy and formal at the begging we wanted her to be in navy but we have now changed it to black due to some complications that we resolved as a group. we have chosen to include hints of red to reflect her character, we also decided to add the FBI badge to tell the Audience what her job is and what part she plays in the opening sequence.

For our attacker we have chosen him to be in majority dark coloured clothing to keep him inline with his character we don’t want him to stand out. this helps us to be able to build up the tension and suspense. his costume is very minimal and simple and classic to what a killer would be likely to wear.  

casting: who we want and why

Who and Why?

As the killer we have chosen Adam Grant we have chosen a male character to play with gender stereotypes we want to show off the female character and her power a strength and as adam is older and seems more intimidating is shows that she is a bad ass. 

As the police officer / detective we have chosen Matilde Mesquit Demelo she looks older than she is as she is around 6ft she is a very talented actress she would be perfect for the role. Previously we wanted our detective to be blonde but after giving it more thought we thought that someone with darker features may suit the character a lot better giving her more of an edge. 

For the dead body we have chosen someone form our group Bashy Slater we did this to limit the cast and also as its not a speaking part and they are covered in blood it doesn’t really matter who plays the part. 

Backups:

For each character we have 2 other people as backups incase something happens. our backups for the killer is Joel Baine and Mike Niland. for the detective / police officer our backups are liv and daisy. for the dead body the backups are me and Maddie Black. All these people have similar characteristics to the people that we have already cast.

For the dead body we weren’t to concerned with who we were going to cast as there face wasn’t going to be seen we just wanted a physical representation of what was going on and only there body was being scene.

Cop Woman:

For the detective we wanted an actress that looked more mature and older we wanted them to be quite tall we filtered through some of the A1 theatre students and some of the younger teachers. We wanted them to be blonde and stereotypically  not what you would think of a detective.

For the killer we wanted them to be a bit older looking than the detective and we wanted them to be male to show off the female detective we wanted them to be taller that the detective and we wanted them to have a scary tone.
